Rope Access Training

As part of our Rope Access training, VA can also coordinate Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) certification by a third-party evaluator. As a Vertical Access Level I technician you will be able to work under the supervision of a Vertical Access team.

The basis of the Vertical Access system is a two-rope system, one rope is your main working line, and the second rope is a dedicated safety line. This course is intended to prepare you for your Level I Vertical Access evaluation, at which you are expected to demonstrate that you can inspect your own equipment, tie knots that are used in rope access and effectively use the double rope system.

The Vertical Access Level I training is intended to prepare a trainee to use the double rope system in a limited capacity under direct supervision, such as straight drops on a façade without rope transfers. The Vertical Access Level I certification is only valid for working directly with a Vertical Access team, as allowances for extra safety precautions such as a pertinent rescue plan and secondary belay (when deemed necessary) will be provided for.
